The question

Does the fast of one who travels during the day in Ramadan to fondle a girl, leading to ejaculation, or buys a pornographic film for masturbation at night, or makes an appointment for adultery at night, become invalidated, considering that these actions are a prelude to what originally invalidates the fast and is forbidden? And does this differ from cooking during the day for what is permissible after breaking the fast?

The answer

Traveling to commit a sin, or to buy a pornographic film, or to arrange for an immoral act during the daylight hours of Ramadan; all of that is falsehood (az-zur) which nullifies the reward of the fast and takes away its recompense, even if the fast is not ruled as invalidated; rather, it is considered sufficient to fulfill the obligation if the person did not do what invalidates it from the well-known nullifiers. And whoever abstains with his limbs from the nullifiers but does not abstain from what angers Allah, then he has not achieved the wisdom of fasting nor has he observed the beneficial and complete fast.
