Have any prophetic traditions or sayings from the Companions been reported that prohibit visiting markets, or that dislike a Muslim being among the first to enter them and the last to leave them? If so, what are they?

The most beloved of lands to Allah are its mosques, and the most detested are its markets. The market is the battlefield of Satan, where he hoists his banner. Entering markets is disliked for one who has no need to do so, for the Prophets used to eat food and walk in the markets, and the Companions used to trade and practice their professions therein. Thus, entering the market for a need is not disliked. However, for no need, it is disliked, due to the lack of safety from seeing or hearing something objectionable.
