What is the ruling on extending one's feet in the direction of the Mus'haf when it is on the same horizontal level and not directly in front of it? Is there a specific distance after which the Mus'haf is considered far away?

Scholars differed concerning the ruling on extending one's legs towards the Mus'haf. The Hanafis consider it forbiddenly disliked (makrooh tahreeman), unless the Mus'haf is not directly opposite the extended legs, such as when it is elevated, lowered, or far away. The Shafi'is permit it as long as there is no intention of disrespect. As for the Hanbalis, they deem it disliked (makrooh).
