ما هي أقل مدة يقضيها المسلم في جهنم، بحسب القرآن والسنة الثابتة؟

The punishment of disobedient monotheists in Hellfire and their stay therein will be commensurate with their sins. They will vary in the severity and duration of their torment, and some will exit by intercession or by the mercy of Allah.

Muslim narrated from Samura (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Among them are those whom the Fire will take up to their ankles, and among them are those whom it will take up to their waists, and among them are those whom it will take up to their necks."

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen mentioned that disobedient Muslims are of three categories: one whose sins are forgiven and does not enter Hellfire, one who enters Hellfire and is punished according to his sins then exits, and one who enters Hellfire and receives intercession, thus exiting before completing his punishment.

No one knows the extent of the severity or duration of the punishment except Allah, and they vary in this regard. There is no authentic evidence that specifies the duration of their stay therein. The two hadiths that determine the duration, namely the hadith of Miskin Abu Fatimah and the hadith of Abu Hurayrah, are weak and denounced.
