What is the religious ruling regarding a case where a husband and wife each swore by triple divorce, truthfully claiming their assertion, with one accusing the other of taking a commission when buying a house, and the other denying it, and then the broker confirmed that he paid the amount but later apologized; does divorce take effect upon one or both of them? And is it permissible to swear by divorce in such cases?

Swearing by other than Allah is not permissible, and this includes swearing by divorce, which is among the oaths of the wicked. The one who does so must repent. As for the two wives concerning whom divorce was sworn, their situations differ. The first (husband's) intention is known, while the second's oath, which he assumes but does not ascertain, is a matter of extensive scholarly disagreement. Therefore, both swearers must refer their cases to the Sharia courts.
