Why has God afflicted the questioner with an infidel brother who caused her to detest her family, curse the Divine Being and religion, and fear the torment of the grave due to her belief that God does not want her, despite her striving for commitment and obedience?

One who has blasphemed against Allah Almighty must repent by feeling remorse and resolving not to return to such an act. If he repents, Allah will forgive his past sins. Do not despair of His mercy, for Allah forgives all sins for those who repent and turn to Him, and He guides those who turn to Him. Family problems that arise due to steadfastness are a test of the sincerity of one's faith. Allah tests His servants to distinguish the truthful from the deceitful, so a believer must remain firm in the face of doubts and desires. Associating with righteous women helps one remain steadfast.
