Is it permissible to use Quranic verses such as "Indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it and feared it; but the Brethren bore it," or "O secularists, I do not worship what you worship," as a form of objection?

"Quotation" (Iqtibas) is the inclusion of something from the Quran or Hadith (definition) in speech without attributing it to them, whether by changing some words or by preserving the original text. The context and occasion must be suitable for what is quoted. Scholars have prohibited quotation if it is in the context of mockery or denigration of the Holy Quran, as this may be considered disbelief (kufr). However, it is permissible to quote and cite verses from the Quran in relation to events if it is for a good purpose that suits the original meaning of the verses.
