If celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is permissible, then why is it not permissible to celebrate the birth of Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him), despite him being a prophet sent by Allah?

Firstly: Celebrating the birth of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is an innovation (bid'ah) that was neither practiced by the Prophet nor his companions. It is not permissible to use it as an argument for the permissibility of celebrating Christian holidays.

Secondly: Celebrating what is called "Christmas" is an innovative (bid'i) and polytheistic (shirki) celebration. It is not permissible for Muslims to imitate Christians in it, as it falls under the forbidden imitation of them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them."

Thirdly: It is unanimously impermissible to congratulate disbelievers on their religious holidays, as doing so implies an affirmation and acceptance of their rituals of disbelief. It is also forbidden to imitate them by holding parties and exchanging gifts during these occasions.

Fourthly: Celebrating Christmas is reprehensible in all cases and its permissibility cannot be asserted, because it is fundamentally corrupt due to the disbelief, immorality, and disobedience that occur within it, and because precisely determining the birth dates of prophets is impracticable.
