Al-Mubarakpuri mentioned, regarding the reason why the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, recited Surat Al-Ala and Surat Al-Ghashiyah on the two Eids, that Surat Al-Ala contains an exhortation to prayer and Zakat al-Fitr, and Al-Ghashiyah is for continuity with Surat Al-Ala.

Whereas the author of Awn al-Mabud mentioned that the reason for reciting them in Friday prayer is what they contain of remembrance of the afterlife, and promises and warnings.

It is authentically reported in sound hadiths that he, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite Surat Al-Jumuah and Surat Al-Munafiqun on Fridays.
