It is permissible to accept financial compensation awarded by civil courts if it is rightfully due according to Islamic law, such as blood money (diyat) and compensation for injuries (arush al-janayat), provided it is within the Shariah-prescribed amount. However, if the family has already collected and paid the blood money to the heirs of the deceased, then they have no further right to it. As for compensation for psychological damages, it is not permissible to accept it. Regarding compensation for vehicle damage, if the insurance is a prohibited commercial insurance, then it is permissible to take from it only the amount that the insured person has paid.
