What is the ruling on abandoning Tahajjud prayer due to a baby girl waking up and crying when her mother begins the prayer?

If someone misses the night vigil (Qiyam al-Layl) due to a compelling reason, such as a baby's crying, they are hoped to attain the reward of performing it if their intention is sincere and their determination strong. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "If a servant falls ill or travels, what he used to do when he was healthy and resident is written for him." The important thing, therefore, is to renew the intention and determination every night. Solutions to cope with a child's crying can be attempted, such as entrusting the child's care to the husband temporarily, or placing the child next to the worshiper, or praying while carrying the child, all while having good expectations of Allah and optimism that He will facilitate acts of worship.
