What is the way to get rid of the love of a married woman that has "nested" in the heart, and is there repentance from the first glance that led to this infatuation? And did I wrong her or did she wrong me by her leniency in covering herself? And will I be punished in my home because of this sin?
Love sickness is a disease that corrupts the heart. You have been excessive and wronged yourself by transgressing Islamic law through unrestrained gazing. Therefore, you must lower your gaze. Repentance, with its conditions (abstaining from the sin, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it), is accepted and erases what came before it. We advise you to hasten marriage if you are not married and are capable. Otherwise, you must fast, lower your gaze, close the doors to temptation, cling to Allah, strengthen your connection with Him, associate with the righteous, fill your free time with beneficial activities, and engage in sports.
