What is the ruling on one who pays Zakat on gold without weighing it, knowing that the gold has reached the nisab and a full year has passed, such that the person paying Zakat gives an amount that may be less or more than the required Zakat? And will there be a debt on the Day of Judgment owed by the Zakat payer to the poor and needy if the Zakat was deficient? And what do you advise them?

The obligatory amount of zakat on gold must be paid, and paying a doubtful amount is not sufficient. One's obligation is not discharged except by being certain that the obligatory amount has been paid. If one pays less than the obligatory amount, it remains a debt upon him because it is a right belonging to those who are entitled to it. And for whoever does not pay the zakat on his wealth that has reached the nisab, there is a severe warning.
