What is the reason for Allah and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, prohibiting most musical instruments, and what harm results from their use if the prohibition has indeed been stated?

The legal proofs have indicated the prohibition of singing and musical instruments. The intellect may not comprehend the reason or wisdom behind this prohibition, but one must submit to Allah’s command and judgment. Not everything that Allah has forbidden causes direct material harm. Just as gold and silk are forbidden for men but not for women, the prohibition of singing does not necessarily lead to a tangible harm like blindness or deafness. The essence of submission to Allah is to make Him the judge in all matters, and not to oppose His judgment with personal opinion or intellect, as Allah Almighty said: "But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you judge in what has become confused among them, and then find no discomfort in themselves from what you have decided and submit in full submission."
