Does fasting on Thursday with the sole intention of fasting that day, and then fasting on Friday without Saturday, constitute singling out Friday for fasting, even if the intention to fast Friday was not made along with Thursday?

Whoever fasts on Thursday is not disliked for fasting on Friday, whether he intended to fast it beforehand or not. The dislike is lifted by fasting a day before Friday or a day after it, so that one does not fast Friday alone. The intention to fast Friday is not required on Thursday. For in the hadith of Juwayriyah, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not forbid her from fasting on Friday except because she had not fasted Thursday before it.
