Is it permissible to combine praise and thanks to Allah with thanks to one's parents by saying: "All praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and thanks to my parents," based on His (the Almighty's) saying: (Give thanks to Me and to your parents; to Me is the final destination)?

Filial piety is among the greatest acts of devotion. Allah has linked obedience to Him with obedience to parents in many places in the Quran, as in His saying: (And We have enjoined on man [to be good] to his parents: his mother carried him in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination) [Luqman/14]. Gratitude towards parents and acknowledging their favor falls within the meaning of the verse. The reality of gratitude is more comprehensive than mere words; it includes fulfilling their rights with one's heart, tongue, and limbs. There is no harm in linking gratitude to Allah Almighty with gratitude to parents, but one should not always adhere to this as one adheres to the adhkar (remembrances) narrated from the Prophet, peace be upon him, because it was not narrated from him.
