A man died, leaving behind a wife, five daughters, and a paternal aunt. How do they inherit?

In the event of a man's death, leaving behind a wife, five daughters, and a paternal aunt:

- The wife receives one-eighth due to the presence of a lineal descendant, as Allah Almighty says: "But if you have a child, then for them [the wives] is one eighth of what you leave."

- The daughters receive two-thirds, as Allah Almighty says: "But if there are [only] daughters, two or more, for them is two-thirds of what he leaves."

- The remainder is returned to the daughters only, by way of both obligatory share and return.

- The paternal aunt is among the 'Dhawi al-Arham' (relatives by blood, but not specified heirs). Jurists have differed regarding their inheritance, and the most preponderant opinion is that they inherit if there is no obligatory share holder. However, with the presence of daughters, the paternal aunt does not inherit.

- The wife receives no return, nor does she take more than her obligatory share.
