A man's statement to his wife, "What was between us is over," and "Each of us will go our own way," are allusive divorce statements (kinayah) that do not constitute a divorce unless the intention for divorce is present. If you intended divorce with one of these two phrases, then it occurs simply by writing it, whether the message reaches her or not. If one or two divorces occur, you may take your wife back as long as she is within her waiting period (iddah (definition)), or with a new contract after its completion. However, if three divorces occur, she does not become lawful for you until she marries another man and he consummates the marriage with her, and then he divorces her or dies.
