Is it permissible to perform Khatmas (recitations of the entire Quran) and read the Quran for the deceased in homes or centers for teaching the Quran, and what is the ruling on placing bottles of water to be recited upon during these Khatmas?

Reciting the Quran and dedicating the reward (thawab) to the deceased in their family's home after burial is an innovation (bid'ah). Eating from what is offered on these occasions is not permissible. However, reciting the Quran and dedicating its reward to the deceased without gathering for this purpose is permissible. As for blowing (nafth) on water after reciting the Quran for blessing (tabarruk) and healing (istishfa'), there is no objection to it.
