Is the money paid by patients to students at the Faculty of Dentistry for their care considered a bribe, knowing that their treatment is free as part of the academic program?

It is not permissible for you to take money or gifts in exchange for treating patients, as long as you are commissioned by the state to treat them and receive a salary for that. This is supported by the Prophet's Hadith which prohibits a worker from accepting gifts related to his work, and by the sayings of scholars who state that a worker is not allowed to accept what is given to him as a gift because of his work, unless he had previously received such a gift in type and amount, which removes the suspicion that the gift is for the sake of the work. This applies to gifts given to workers and public officials, whether the gift is an object, a benefit, or in the form of favoritism.
