The exegetes differed regarding the meaning of "he who had knowledge from the Scripture" in the verse: (He who had knowledge from the Scripture said, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you"); most of them held that he was Asaf ibn Barkhiya, a righteous man from the Children of Israel.
