If a servant's intention is good and sincere in obeying Allah, but then they are prevented from performing that act of obedience, Allah will grant them the reward for that obedience. The proof of this is that whoever sincerely asks Allah for martyrdom, Allah will grant them the status of martyrs. Also, some people remained in Madinah but attained the reward of the mujahideen due to the excuse that detained them. When Aisha desired to participate in jihad, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, guided her by saying that a well-performed Hajj is the jihad of women. He also said to the women who complained about men surpassing them in virtue: "The work of any one of you in her house will, Allah willing, attain the quality of the jihad of the mujahideen."
