What is the ruling on writing "Allāhu Akbar" with the letter a repeated in "Allāh" and the letter r repeated in "Akbar," and similarly repeating the letter e in "Āmīn" and the letter a in "As-Salām"?

One must adhere to the correct pronunciation of the words of dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and avoid laḥn (mistakes in pronunciation). Repeating a letter or elongating it more than necessary is considered laḥn, and this is forbidden by Islamic law because it constitutes laḥn in the prophetic ḥadīth, which scholars have deemed as lying and fabricating against the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as stated in the ḥadīth: "Whoever attributes to me what I have not said, let him take his seat in the Fire."

Elongating the Ism al-Jalālah (the majestic name of Allah) more than two ḥarakāt (vowel movements), repeating the letter r when it is sākin (unvoweled), excessively elongating the e in "Āmen," and elongating the a in "As-Salām" if it exceeds three alifāt, all are forms of laḥn that are forbidden. Tajwīd (correct Quranic recitation) means giving each letter its due without excess or deficiency.
