Is it permissible to pray Maghrib and Isha in Arafah if the time has passed?
The Sunnah for the pilgrim is to combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers at Muzdalifah with a delayed combination (jama' ta'khir). However, if one fears missing the time for Isha prayer (the first third of the night) before reaching Muzdalifah, then it is preferable to pray before it. It is permissible according to scholars to omit the combination at Muzdalifah and pray at Arafat. It is obligatory not to delay the prayer beyond its prescribed time. If one fears that the time will expire before reaching Muzdalifah, they should pray in their current location, even if they are riding. It is not permissible to delay the prayer beyond the Isha time under the pretext of applying the Sunnah, because delaying it is contrary to the Sunnah.
