Who is more deserving of obedience: the grandmother who became angry because of shunning the maternal uncle, or the father who ordered the shunning of the maternal uncle?

Efforts should be made to reconcile the father and the maternal uncle, seeking help from Allah, then from people of virtue, and anticipating great reward for mending relations. The maternal uncle should also be advised of the seriousness of taking the father's money unjustly. If reconciliation is unsuccessful, obedience to the father is obligatory in matters that do not involve disobedience to Allah. However, it is not permissible to obey him in shunning the grandmother or the maternal uncle. Rather, it is obligatory to maintain ties with them, as cutting off kinship is impermissible. The father should be reminded that Allah commanded to be dutiful to him in what is good, and cutting off what Allah has commanded to be joined is not part of what is good.
