Has the mention of dinosaurs been ورد (mentioned/alluded to) in Islam, or has this been established in the authentic Sunnah, and how can one respond to such a question?

Dinosaurs are huge reptiles that lived millions of years ago and then became extinct. There is nothing in the texts of the Quran and Sunnah that confirms or denies their existence. However, some scholars have understood from the Holy Quran, specifically the verse (And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" He said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know"), that there were creatures on Earth before Adam, peace be upon him. Dinosaurs might have been among these creatures. The existence of creatures of such a size is not strange. It has been reported in the Sunnah that Adam, peace be upon him, was created sixty cubits tall, and that at the end of time, the Earth's blessings will be restored, so that one pomegranate will feed a group of people, and they will seek shade under its peel. Islamic law does not forbid the existence of these creatures with their enormous sizes, but the details of their ages and forms are a matter for science and conjecture. A Muslim should not be preoccupied with them or consider them a religious issue, for the Quran and Sunnah were revealed for guidance, not for matters of history or geography.
