The repentance of a sick person is accepted if it occurs before the soul reaches the throat, even if they are in their death illness or in the throes of death. This is indicated by the acceptance of a sick person's conversion to Islam and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, attempting to present Islam to his uncle during his death illness. Indeed, Allah accepts the repentance of His servant as long as they have not gurgled, meaning as long as the soul has not reached the throat and they have not reached a point where life is no longer conceivable. If they have not reached this state, their repentance is valid and so forth.
