The question

Will the repentance of one who went to the Dajjal be accepted, despite knowing of his destruction, and who has been afflicted with a severe illness? And would he be considered a suicide if he dies from this illness? And does the noble Hadith apply to him: "He does not tire until you tire"?

The answer

Allah tests His servants with calamities because of their sins, so that they may return [to Him] and repent. It is out of Allah's mercy that punishment occurs in this world, to purify souls before death. Repentance is accepted as long as the soul has not reached the throat, and the one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin. If a sin is repeated and the servant repents each time, his repentance is accepted and he is forgiven. We advise against thinking about death due to illness, for lifespans are fixed, and death is neither hastened nor healing delayed except by Allah's permission.
