Does greeting the deceased from afar in the graveyard alleviate their suffering?

Greeting the deceased is a supplication for their well-being and health, and the deceased benefits from the supplication made for them, whether the supplicant is their child or someone else, and whether the supplication is made from near or far. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to greet the deceased and supplicate for them, and he taught his companions to do so, such as his saying: "Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of these dwellings, from among the believers and Muslims. May Allah have mercy upon those who have gone ahead of us and those who will come later. And verily, Allah willing, we shall join you. I ask Allah for well-being for us and for you." It has been reported that the deceased returns the greeting to whoever greets them, and that supplication alleviates their torment.
