Is expiation obligatory for an oath, "By Allah, you will not get up until you finish your plate," if the son tried to complete his food but vomited and was unable to finish it?

A Muslim should not swear excessively. If you made an oath to your son that he must eat everything on his plate, and he was unable to do so, then an expiation for breaking an oath is incumbent upon you.
