How accurate is the attribution to Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) of the statement permitting the celebration of the Prophet's birthday, and that "those who celebrate it will have a great reward due to the goodness of their intention and their veneration of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him"?

Previous fatwas have been issued clarifying the ruling on the Prophet's Birthday according to Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah. As for the statement attributed to Imam Ahmad concerning the embellishment of the Mushaf with gold or silver, it has not been found in his books or the books of his companions. Rather, what is explicitly stated in the Hanbali madhhab is the dislike of embellishing the Mushaf because it distracts the reader and wastes money. Ibn Muflih and Ibn Qudamah both mentioned this in their books. As for the statement of Sheikh Al-Islam concerning collective dhikr, it is incomplete. Its full text indicates the desirability of gathering for the Quran, dhikr, and supplication, as long as it is not adopted as a regular habit or associated with a reprehensible innovation. Uncovering the head is disliked in such a situation, especially if it is considered an act of worship.
