What is the ruling on playing the game Travian online?

The Shariah permits types of play that benefit the mind or body, or relieve them from boredom and weariness, or restore their activity and vitality, provided that there is no Shariah violation in them, nor a waste of time and squandering it in what is useless. Accordingly, if the aforementioned game is of this type, then there is no Shariah impediment to its use. However, if it contains anything that contradicts the Shariah, then it is not permissible.
