A man has the right to marry a second, third, or fourth wife, provided he is capable of marriage and can maintain justice among his wives. It is not a condition for the permissibility of this to have a dispute with the first wife or for her to have a defect. The ruling on your second marriage depends on your capability and need; it could be obligatory (wajib), recommended (mandub), permissible (mubah), disliked (makruh), or forbidden (haram). A wife spying on her husband is not permissible. It is advised to treat the wife kindly and to follow the means of reconciliation mentioned in the Holy Quran.
