Is repentance regret?
Whoever repents to Allah with sincere repentance has regretted their sin, because regret over a sin is one of the conditions for sincere repentance. The proof for this is the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Indeed, repentance from sin is regret and seeking forgiveness."
