Is it permissible to eat in restaurants that serve alcoholic beverages?

If it is possible to eat in places other than those selling alcohol, then it is not permissible to eat in them, as this constitutes cooperation in sin. However, if it is not possible to eat anywhere else, then it is permissible due to necessity, as Allah says: (And He has not placed upon you in religion any difficulty) and (Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity). It is stipulated that one should not eat or drink anything except that which Allah has made lawful.
