Is it permissible to benefit from the money remaining after getting rid of a usurious loan, whether by returning the house to the bank and getting back the down payment, or by selling it and settling the loan?

Repentance from sin is obligatory, and it is not a condition for repentance to hasten the repayment of the loan or to dispose of the house. There is no harm in selling the house and recovering the installments paid, because what is required is only the repayment of the principal loan. There is no obligation to pay usurious interest, and it is permissible to evade it, based on the Almighty's saying: "And if you repent, you may have your principal – [thus] you do not wrong and you are not wronged." There is no harm in keeping the house or selling it to repay the loan, but repayment should not be hastened unless it involves a reduction of the usurious interest.
