Is it permissible for the wife to bear the expenses of the house and the child, even if it is not wholeheartedly, and is the husband excused who declares a lack of money after bearing the expenses of the nursery, his work, and his personal expenses?

A husband must provide for his wife and children, even if the wife is wealthy, because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Verily, their right upon you is that you treat them well in their clothing and their food." He must also be just among his wives in expenditure, division, and time, and it is forbidden for him to incline towards one of them, for Allah Almighty says: "So do not incline completely [toward one] and leave another hanging." Whoever does not act justly will come on the Day of Resurrection with one side of his body drooping. Financial support is a debt owed by the husband, and the wife has the right to take the matter to the Sharia courts or to forgive her husband.
