The prophets are Allah's chosen ones, whom He selected to bear His message and to be emulated. Their stories are lessons and admonitions. Ayyub (Job), peace be upon him, is one of the prophets who should be emulated for his patience in adversity and his gratitude for blessings. He was afflicted in his wealth, his children, and his body, and he bore it with immense patience, to the extent that he became a paragon of patience. Then Allah removed his affliction, restored his family and wealth to him, and increased him from His bounty. It has been reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that the prophets are the most severely tested of people.
