What is the ruling on using copyrighted information bank questions that are circulated among students and are intended only for faculty members?

The fatwa we follow is that copyrights are owned by their holders, and therefore, it is not permissible to infringe upon them. Thus, it is not permissible to download books published online without the permission of their copyright holders, nor to read them. As for preventing students from accessing the information bank attached to scientific books, it appears that this is considered for educational benefit, unless teachers and educational bodies permit students to access them. In that case, there is no harm if they obtain them through an authorized method.
