Is the repentance of a dancer and an actress who display their charms accepted after a life of amusement, and then they go to Hajj and repent? And is buying many clothes and shoes that may not be used considered extravagance for which a Muslim woman will be held accountable, despite her performing the obligatory duties, giving charity, and doing good deeds?

The mercy of Allah is vast, and He has promised forgiveness to those who repent, and to replace their evil deeds with good ones, by His grace. Good deeds are not the price of Paradise, but rather a means to attain Allah's pleasure, which admits the servant into Paradise through His mercy. The ranks of the people of Paradise vary according to their deeds. Repentance from sin may engender a humility and brokenness that is better than the arrogance resulting from some acts of obedience. A sin accompanied by repentance might be more beneficial to a servant than many acts of obedience, if the sin leads to brokenness and repentance. A disobedience that produces humility and a sense of need is better than an obedience that produces pride and arrogance.
