The answer

We ask Allah to grant you a speedy recovery from the whispers and doubts you are experiencing. Then, know that all that you have mentioned is far from constituting a divorce. Divorce only occurs through an explicit pronouncement, or a metaphorical expression (kinayah) – which is any word that indicates separation but is not explicit in doing so – and a metaphorical expression does not constitute a divorce unless there is an intention to enact it. We advise you to turn away from these whispers and not pay attention to them, for that is the most beneficial cure for them.
