The answer

Al-Munawi, Ala' al-Din, Al-Suyuti, and Ibn Kathir mentioned the story of the snakebite inflicted upon Abu Bakr in the cave. Ibn Kathir stated that Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Al-Dala'il" on the authority of Umar, and that it contains strangeness and denunciation. This story has not been established with an authentic or acceptable chain of transmission, and what has been authentically proven regarding the virtues of Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, suffices without it.
