Is it permissible for a female doctor to use, distribute, or sell free drug samples provided by companies, given that she does not request them and is not obligated to prescribe their types?
It is permissible for a doctor to accept free samples from pharmaceutical companies for the purpose of testing the product and learning about new developments, as long as he is not required to promote them or led by them to abandon what is best for the patient.
As for the disposition of these samples, the doctor may dispose of them as if they were his property, using them, gifting them, or selling them. However, if the company stipulates that they should not be sold, or if custom dictates this, then it is more prudent for him to gift them to patients or donate them to charitable organizations. But if there is no condition or custom, he may dispose of them as he wishes.
