What is the appropriate maintenance (nafaqah) due to a woman and her children from her financially capable husband, and is he obligated to provide a driver for them, considering that he does not spend on her under the pretext of her employment, and he delays in transporting her and their children?

Respect, understanding, and cooperation must prevail in married life, for Allah Almighty says: "And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought."

The maintenance of the wife and children is obligatory upon the husband, and it includes food, drink, clothing, and housing. The wife is not obligated to spend on herself or her children, even if she is wealthy.

If the wife is someone who typically has a servant, then the husband must provide a servant for her. He must also provide transportation for the children to school, and the furnishing of the marital home, including furniture and other items, is obligatory upon the husband.

The woman is not obligated to work, and her maintenance is upon her husband.
