What is the ruling on Hajj campaigns staying overnight in Mina during the day and returning to Mecca at night for entertainment?

The action of these individuals is permissible from the perspective of jurisprudential rules, but they did not follow the Sunnah. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stayed in Mina day and night, and Hajj is a struggle, not a luxury. The pilgrim should perform his rituals as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performed them, for he said: "Take your rituals from me." Therefore, the pilgrim should remain in Mina day and night and not leave it to rest outside. Hajj is but a few days, and hardship in it is an act of obedience. The Hajj of one who does this is deficient due to not following the Sunnah.
