You must strive against your intrusive thoughts and not yield to them, for they lead to great evil. You should build upon the fundamental principle, which is the purity of things, so do not rule something ritually impure unless you have absolute certainty. If you are certain of the ritual impurity of a specific spot, it suffices to pour water over it to purify it. If you are certain of your brother's situation, you must forbid him and clarify the error of what he is doing. As for urinary incontinence, the Maliki school holds that you are excused from the impurity that affects you because of it, and you are not required to purify it. There is no blame upon you for acting upon this opinion as long as you are afflicted with obsessive doubts.
