Is combing the beard with the hand and some of its hairs breaking off considered unlawful (haram)? And does this fall under taking from the beard, knowing that the one doing so does not intend to shorten it or take from it, but rather does it out of habit or to untangle it?

If the beard is tampered with, or its hairs are separated, or some hair falls out unintentionally without intending to remove it, then it appears that there is nothing wrong with that, and it does not fall under the ruling of taking from the beard.
