Is it permissible to slaughter a ram with the left hand?

The Maliki and Shafi'i schools have stated the preference for slaughtering with the right hand, based on the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) preferred to start with the right in all his affairs, except in cases where the right hand is disabled or incapacitated. If one slaughters with the left hand while being able to slaughter with the right, there is no sin upon him, though he would have missed out on what is more complete.
