The relationship, conversations, and meetings must be cut off, because a serious young man proposes to a girl through her family. A girl should not accept marriage until she has inquired about the suitor, his religious commitment, his family, and his manners. Repentance is obligatory due to the conversations and meetings, as they invite temptation and falling into what is forbidden. A woman may lose respect in the eyes of a man if she is deceived by him. Furthermore, private conversations with men via the internet and phone bring shame and tribulation.
