What should I do about my family's meat imported from infidel countries, which children touch, knowing that it is forbidden and being unable to convince them to abandon it?

Contemporary scholars hold differing views on the ruling concerning meats imported from the lands of the People of the Book. Some permit them, even with an element of doubt, to provide ease for people and remove hardship. Others, however, believe that deeming them unlawful is more cautious for the religion and further from ambiguities, and that abstaining from eating them is a praiseworthy form of piety.

Even with the view that prohibits them, their ruling is akin to something whose impurity is doubted; thus, no washing or sprinkling is required, especially if there is doubt about it having touched clothing or furniture, or if avoiding it would be difficult. Sprinkling is not obligatory when there is doubt about the impurity of something that has come into contact; this is because the original state of a thing is purity. It is also advised not to give in to obsessive doubts (waswas) in such matters.
